Having left college as a bit of a hippy, my first home was a mishmash of eclectic colours and patterns in the form of tapestries, cushions, throws, and easy lounging furniture. Practicality has become my middle name! The layout and d?cor of my home has to be functional and sensible first, with colour schemes and style coming second, otherwise an early grave beckons. Trying to keep on top of the comings and goings of a family life in full swing is a full time job in itself, so getting the basics right from the very start is very important.
